• At-risk youth
• Older adults facing isolation or poverty
Why It Matters
Metro Atlanta faces urgent challenges in meeting the needs of vulnerable communities. Here’s why Stepping Into Success is essential:
• Veterans & Families
Georgia is home to over 608,000 veterans. In Metro Atlanta:
• 646 veterans are currently homeless
• 7.2% live below the poverty line
• 32.7% have a service-connected disability
• Over 94,000 live in homes with major housing issues
Stepping Into Success provides trauma-informed care navigation, housing support, digital access, and family-centered wellness services.
• Homelessness
More than 3,200 people experience homelessness nightly in Atlanta, with 1,200 chronically unhoused.
We offer temporary housing, job training, and health services to help individuals regain stability and achieve long-term success.
• Domestic Violence
In 2020, Atlanta reported over 10,000 domestic violence incidents.
Survivors receive safe shelter, counseling, and legal advocacy through our trauma-informed approach.
• LGBTQ+ Youth
30% of LGBTQ+ youth in Atlanta face homelessness due to rejection and discrimination.
We provide affirming housing, mental health care, and peer support networks.
• Mental Health
18% of Georgia adults live with a mental health disorder, yet many lack access to treatment.
Our initiative connects individuals to therapy, crisis support, and community-based care.
• Youth
Over 5,000 youth in Atlanta are identified as at-risk due to poverty, abuse, or neglect.
We offer mentorship, educational support, and enrichment activities to promote positive development.
• Seniors
12% of Atlanta’s population is over 65, with many facing isolation and poverty.
We provide health care access, social services, computer training 55+, and community engagement opportunities.
